Profs. Christoph Studer and Zhiru Zhang each received a Michael Tien ’72 Excellence in Teaching Award.
Prof. Christopher Batten has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with indefinite tenure, following approval from the Cornell Engineering Board of Trustees, effective November 1, 2016. Prof. Batten joined CSL in January 2010 as an Assistant Professor.
Prof. José Martínez has been promoted to the rank of Full Professor effective November 1, 2016.

Prof. Kirstin Petersen is CSL’s newest Faculty member. Prof. Petersen’s research in robotics represents CSL’s entry into such an important and exciting area.
Prof. Adrian Sampson joins CSL after spending a year at Microsoft Research. He earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Washington.
Prof. Christina Delimitrou joins CSL from Stanford University, where she did a Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Christos Kozyrakis. Her research is in computer architecture for data centers.
CSL graduate students Steve Dai and Charles Jeon were the co-winners of the 2015-16 ECE Outstanding Ph.D. TA Award. Congratulations on a excellent job!
Prof. Zhiru Zhang was selected as the recipient of the IEEE CEDA Ernest S. Kuh Early Career Award for his outstanding contributions to algorithms, methodologies, and successful commercialization of high-level synthesis tools for FPGAs.
Prof. Rajit Manohar’s group’s paper with IBM research on neuromorphic systems is a cover feature in Science.
