Undergraduate research experience

with Dr. Bernard Lindsay (now working in industry) in the Atomic and Molecular Collisions Group.

Random papers from undergrad about charge transfer and absolute differential cross sections. I shot ions and neutral particles and electrons at different gases and measured their deflection and what happened to the gas (ionized, neutralized)!

  • Electron transfer in collisions of keV hydrogen atoms and ions with methane, J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 38, 1977-1986 (2005), B. G. Lindsay, W. S. Yu, and R. F. Stebbings. Abstract
  • Cross sections for charge-changing processes involving kilo-electron-volt H and H+ with CO and CO2, Phys. Rev. A 71, 032705 (2005), B. G. Lindsay, W. S. Yu, and R. F. Stebbings. Abstract
  • Cross sections for electron capture and loss by kilo-electron-volt oxygen atoms in collisions with CO and CO2, J. Geophys. Res. 110, A02302 (2005), B. G. Lindsay, W. S. Yu, and R. F. Stebbings. Abstract
  • Electron capture and loss by kilo-electron-volt oxygen atoms in collisions with He, H2, N2, and O2, Phys. Rev. A 70, 042701 (2004), B. G. Lindsay, W. S. Yu, K. F. McDonald, and R. F. Stebbings. Abstract
  • Electron-impact ionization of CCl4 and CCl2F2, J. Chem. Phys. 121, 1350-1356 (2004), B. G. Lindsay, K. F. McDonald, W. S. Yu, R. F. Stebbings, and F. B. Yousif. Abstract
