Ji Kim (Google)

Bio: Ji Kim received a Ph.D. in computer architecture at Cornell University in 2016. He then joined Google and has since worked on various projects focusing on next-generation domain-specific accelerators. From 2016-2018, Ji worked as an architect on the Pixel Visual Core for accelerating image processing on mobile devices, delivering two generations of chips. In 2018, he joined Google Research to investigate next-generation ML accelerator architectures. In 2020, he joined the XLA SparseCore compiler team where he is currently working on improving the performance of embeddings on TPUs.
