What I do (kinda)
Cathy Chen
Biomedical Research:
I am currently working in the Schaffer Lab led by Dr. Chris Schaffer, in the department of Biomedical Engineering. There are two active projects that I am involved in:

Autocorrelation and prism compressor: I worked with Jason Mandell (PhD candidate, Penn State 2013), on building an autocorrelator and prism compressor for our two photon microscope.

Imaging of mouse hearts: I am also currently working on a project to develop a technique to hold the heart of a mouse still for two photon imaging purposes.

Computer Systems Laboratory Research:
I am also working in the Fusion Lab, of Dr. Sally Mckee within the Computer Systems Laboratory. I am currently working on a cache simulation system with Jess Loeb ('09) and Alexis Collins ('09) to simulate the usage of the cache in embedded systems like personal electronics. Funded for through Enigneering Learning Initiatives, through a grant from Intel Corporation.
